Last weekend I headed to Newbury, Masachusetts and met with Rich and Amanda to take some photos of the two of them and Amanda’s baby bump.
What a treat when I found out we were going to Martin Burns Wildlife Management Area. I often ask couples to chose the location for the shoot so that they will feel more comfortable, and this was a great choice.
Here are a few shots from the session.

Kay and Gary are an awesome couple with a wedding coming up VERY soon. Since they are both teachers, it was difficult for them to find time for an engagement shoot until the end of the school year.
We got together on a sweltering day last week at the Arnold Arboretum to take a few photos.
I think it is important to shoot photographs at a location that has some meaning to the couple, so when they look back at the photos, they don’t feel awkwardly posed in a strange place.
Kay and Gary spend sots of time here, so it was perfect.

Flying through the trees.
Here are a few photographs of Red-tailed Hawks from two recent trips to Mt. Auburn.

This morning I left the house to run some errands and drop some items off to clients and brought my camera along with me as I usually do. Sometimes I see something interesting along the way, and sometimes I take a detour to visit a spot where I might see something.
Mt. Auburn Cemetery is one of my usual stops when I am on the other side of the river, and today turned out to be a good day to be there.
There was a lone blue heron who came out from hiding in the trees to feast.
I had been siting still by the edge of the water for over a half hour. In time, the bird walked directly over to me and began hunting.
