Rich and Amanda at Martin Burns Wildlife Management Area_Newbury, Ma

Last weekend I headed to Newbury, Masachusetts and met with Rich and Amanda to take some photos of the two of them and Amanda’s baby bump.

What a treat when I found out we were going to Martin Burns Wildlife Management Area. I often ask couples to chose the location for the shoot so that they will feel more comfortable, and this was a great choice.

6 Birdhouses for a bride in NYC

About a week ago I got an e mail from a woman in New York City who somehow found her way to my birdhouse page on Etsy. She decided that she wanted to order 6 birdhouses for her bridesmaids as gifts.  The only catch was, her wedding is on the 19th of this month, and she needs them by the 11th to travel with them to her wedding location. On top of that, she wanted them all designed from one house she liked on the Etsy page.

With a little more than a week to get her order made, packaged and delivered in time for her wedding, I got to work.

The first step is to chose the wood that fits best for this project. I have a large selection to chose from, so no two houses will come out looking the same.

I like to reuse old nails and screws that I pull when dismantling boxes. They really add to the original feel and go great with the old text and scratch marks on the wood.

An unusual walk in Mt Auburn Cemetery

Between woodworking and photographing for clients, I haven’t had the time lately to enjoy one of my favorite places in the city, Mt Auburn Cemetery. With a few hours between appointments today, I headed over to see what I could find.
