Kay and Gary met at Boston University while they were both getting their Masters back in 2006.
Kay recounts; “We became friends immediately, but started dating after Gary ‘kidnapped’ me. A group of us were going out for sushi, but I tried to back out. Gary showed up at my place and made me go—but no one else was there! That was our first date and it ended with quoting movies and eating Swedish fish”.
I met this awesome couple last year when they were planning their wedding, and we recently had a really fun engagement session at the Arnold Arboretum to get them comfortable with the camera for their wedding photographs.
They did almost all of the wedding planning themselves with help from Alison Majka at the Lenox Hotel.
We had a beautiful day in Boston for a wedding, with a gorgeous view from the bridal suite.

You might remember this fun couple from their recent engagement session on their tandem yellow Schwinn cruiser. If so, then you know that are really laid back and love to laugh, relax and just be themselves. My favorite type of people to photograph.
The pair met at the Distillery Open Studios in November, 2010 when Margaux was wandering the building, visiting various artists’ studios and checking out the art. She walked into a studio Nick was hanging out in with several other artists, he offered her a beer and they started chatting. He told her about his studio and showed her some of his paintings.
Nick contacted Margaux shortly after to see about the possibility of having Margaux be the subject of one of his paintings (typical artist). Margaux, of course, said that she would love to pose. They got to know each other a bit more the day that she posed for the photos that Nick would eventually use for a painting. He then asked her out on a date and they have been inseparable ever since!
I met up with the couple again at the Intercontinental Boston where they were preparing for their big day. With the heat in the 90’s and thunderstorms predicted, there was worry about the ceremony which was to take place in the Public Garden.
That obviously didn’t keep a smile off Margaux’s face.
Margaux and her sister share a moment while waiting to prepare for the wedding.
Nick and Karl dress as Kyle plays a little guitar just down the hall from the ladies.
